Phuket, Thailand: March 3, 2025 – Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach, the five-star resort nestled on Phuket’s sunset coast, will mark Earth Hour 2025 this March, as it dims its lights and stages a series of evocative activities to shine a spotlight on the climate crisis, including a candlelit dinner on Nai Yang Beach.

Billed as The Biggest Hour for Earth, Earth Hour sees homes and businesses all around the world switch off their lights for one hour to raise awareness about environmental issues and the need to save energy. This years event on March 22nd (20:30 – 21:30 hrs) will be the 24th annual Earth Hour, and Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach has been a proud participant ever since the inaugural edition in 2007.

Beach Cleaning and Turtle Sculpture Centerpiece

A wide range of Save the Earthactivities are being planned at the resort. From March 1st – 22nd, 2025, guests are invited to join associates for regular beach cleaning activities, and the litter collected from the shoreline will be used to fill a large, handmade bamboo turtle sculpture. On March 22nd, the beach cleaning willrun from 16:30 – 17:30 hrs, and once the turtle is filled, it will be moved to Nai Yang Beach to create the centerpiece for the resort’s “Earth Hour Buffet on the Beach dinner.

 

Creative Earth Hour Activities for All Ages

 

Also on March 22nd, young guests will be able to learn about environmental issues in fun and creative ways with a series of activities at the Kids Club from 09:00 – 17:00 hrs. Classes include paper plate art, woven bag painting*, card creation, frame making, and bingo games. Then, from 18:00 hrs onwards, children can enjoy immersive activities at the Big Fish Lawns Kids Corner, including rock painting, bean mosaic keyring making, and games of tic tac toe.

Planet-Friendly High Tea

During the afternoon of March 22nd (15:00 – 18:00 hrs), guests are invited to come together and savor a Planet-Friendly High Tea at The Lounge. This eco-conscious afternoon tea experience has been specially crafted to be good for the planet, with guilt-free sweet & savory treats such as miang kham (Thai leaf wraps), vegetable bowls, plant-based mini burgers, Earth macaroons and more, accompanied by refreshing teas or premium coffee. This exclusive plant-based high tea is priced at THB 1,500 net per couple. 

Earth Hour Buffet on the Beach

The resorts Earth Hour celebrations will culminate with aspectacular “Earth Hour Buffet on the Beach (18:00 – 22:00 hrs). As the sun sets over the Andaman Sea, guests are invited to kick off their shoes and enjoy a blissful buffet dinner on the pure shores of Nai Yang Beach. Set against the backdrop of the bamboo turtle sculpture, the “Art to Save the Sea” themed event will include an amazing array of live stations, illuminated by candles and accompanied by live acoustic music and a dramatic fire & drum show.

 

 

 

Menu highlights include fresh salads, such as pomelo salad and a wide selection of local greens with a choice of dressings, coconut soup, perfectly grilled meats including cage-free chicken and responsibly-reared beef and pork, sustainably sourced seafood including Andaman tiger prawns, squid skewers, and local fish wrapped in banana leaves, plus Phuket-style wok-fried noodles, and delectable Thai desserts including mango with sticky rice, and seasonal fresh fruits.

 

This enchanting evening is priced at THB 1,299 net per person (food only), or THB 699 net for kids. For a truly unforgettable occasion, the resort can arrange of private setup under a beachfront canopy, priced at THB 3,999 net per couple, including the buffet and one glass of wine per person. Only four canopies are available so advanced bookings are essential.

During Earth Hour (20:30 – 21:30 hrs), the resort will extinguish all non-essential lighting for one hour, and a group photo will be staged on the beach. Diners will be serenaded with unplugged music from 20:50 hrs onwards. And of course, all guests are encouraged to turn off their room lights during Earth Hour 2025, from 20:30 – 21:30 hrs, and reflect on their relationship with the environment.
