Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Elevates Health Food with Innovative New Eatery on the Banks of Bangkok’s Historic Canal
Rim Klong Café harnesses fresh, organic ingredients to create wellness-focused dishes, overseen by award-winning culinary pioneer Gabrielle Kurz
Bangkok, Thailand, 28 August 2019 – Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort, the holistic health sanctuary in downtown Bangkok, has unveiled a stylish new café that is set to position the resort at the forefront of Thailand’s wellness tourism movement.
Rim Klong Café is nestled on the ground floor of this idyllic urban resort, overlooking the scenic Klong Saen Saeb, which forms part of Bangkok’s famous and historic network of canals. With its bright indoor terrace overlooking the busy waterway, this vibrant café creates a relaxing setting for light daytime dining and innovative afternoon teas.
In keeping with the resort’s unique 360-degree wellbeing concept, Rim Klong Café will specialise in wholesome dishes that taste great and boost the body. Chef Gabrielle Kurz, the award-winning health food pioneer and Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort’s culinary consultant, has developed an enticing menu that works in harmony with the preventative treatments offered at the adjacent BDMS Wellness Clinic.
Guests can discover a delectable selection of artisan savoury snacks and guilt-free sweet treats, all of which are fully labelled with their calorie count and medicinal properties, such as whether they can assist weight loss, heart health, anti-ageing and more. And of course, diners will be informed whether their meal is vegetarian or contains nuts, wheat, gluten or dairy.
A daily blackboard will showcase freshly-baked artisan breads, such as sourdough, rye bread, gluten-free muffins, mixed-seed bagels and much more. These can be used to create sumptuous sandwiches, including ultra-healthy options such as the “Vegelucious Super Green” and or specially designed “Sinner Sandwiches” for guests who fancy a more indulgent treat.
Naturally, salads are an important part of the menu at Rim Klong Café, and Chef Gabrielle elevates this classic concept with delicious and nutritious combinations that blend superfoods, such as quinoa and avocado, with local herbs and fruits like mango and pomelo. Diners can also enjoy a range of light tapas snacks, cold cuts and platters, plus organic juices and smoothies that blend tropical fruits with original organic ingredients such as bee pollen, golden flax, chia seeds and more.
Rim Klong Café also believes that healthy eating does not mean that diners need to skip dessert. The Mövenpick Chocolate Hour features a choice of truffles and treats made using 72% organic dark chocolate with no added sugar, and a selection of Mövenpick ice-cream.
“At Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort, we understand that food is immensely important to the body. Everything we consume is fuel, with the ability to invigorate our bodies, inside and out.
